on the verge of completion

Throughout the renovation, in keeping with our limited budget, our guideline was to satisfy the basic technical requirements. We never sought to achieve perfection. The project is permanently on the verge of achieving completion, compensating this with the quality of details and by giving unusual function to some components.
We normalized and actualized the existing or mended, plastered or bare walls by inexpensive and simple painting.
Unnecessary door panels—making use of their solid wood frame—were transformed into furniture boards by trimming their edges.
As a result of breaking down walls, now there are different floor designs within a single large space, the dividing lines signalling the former structure of the building. By removing partial tiles from the traces of the old walls, we gave these divisions a serrated look, evoking a sense of deliberate design.
Limited conditions compel us to think even more about the essence of the project.
Clear thoughts are often the result of a tight budget.
